Some days are like that....

...crazy that is!!

Yesterday was such a crazy day. First thing I had to take my kitty to the vet for his hernia surgery....he was born with a herniated umbilical cord and it finally got to the point where we had to operate.

I also had my youngest son Adam, home sick for the second day in a row (and he is still home today too) so I knew I was not going to get a whole lot done around the studio while playing nurse maid to a hacking 7 year old!!

Oh...and then I had to go to the dentist for a "minor cavity" repair...and 4 shots of freezing later (one into my jaw bone itself as I don't freeze very well it seems!) and a vewwy fwozen mouf...I went and picked up the kitty on my way home!

But I did manage to squeeze a bit of time into make this sweet little thing:

I printed the image onto some nice linen fabric and put it into an old frame I re-painted/distressed. I love the splash of turquoise ribbon!! I have listed this over in my Etsy shoppe if anyone is interested. It’s a little sparse over there right now, but there will be more products added in the coming weeks.

Oh wait....I forgot I created a little tutorial on antiquing old frames for Beyond the Picket Fence's blog party called 100 ideas for $100. I am also posting for the first time on Funky Junk's Saturday Night Special. You can read about it here or click on the link on the sidebar where it says "More from Urban Whyte".  This is where I will post all of my tutorials from now on.

Blessings,
Karen

  1. Hi there,
I saw your commment on Just Beachy's site about looking for Flea Market Style. I called my Chapters and he called the distributor and they told him they were getting 5 copies in the next day so I asked him to hold one for me.
I hope this helps you, good luck.

  3. Not a problem, happy to help and I too was impatient and checked 3 stores with no luck. I have already breezed through it. Actually my sweetie picked it up for me so I didn't get to peruse it before hand to see if it was worth the $12.95, I was thinking it would be larger than the standard design magazine.

  5. This is so cute. How did you find time to do this with all that you had going on?!? Amazing! And, how did you print the image on linen? Am I the only one that doesn't know how to do that? I love it, though! Great job.
